InScience Press Release

Press Release - 26 April 2017

InScience partner of the European Academy of Science Film

InScience, Dutch International Science Film Festival, is one of the initiators of the European Academy of Science Film. The purpose of the Academy is to strengthen the position of the European science film. This year, the prize for best European science film will be awarded for the first time.

The Academy Award is part of the European Academy of Science Film (EURASF). All ten participating festivals nominate one film from their official selection program. InScience nominated the film Jheronimus Bosch, Touched By The Devil. The Academy will award the prize on Saturday 29th of April during the International Film Festival Academia Film Olomouc ( AFO 2017) in the Czech Republic.
The European Academy of Science Film is promoting a European network of film makers, producers, festival organizers and science communicators. The Academy stimulates the exchange of knowledge between academy members, the cooperation with organizations at a national and international level and shows science through the medium film to a broad audience.

About Jheronimus Bosch, Touched by the devil
The film, by producer Pieter van Huystee, follows a research team on their multiannual journey around the world with the goal to explore all the paintings of Jheronimus Bosch, known to be still in existence and unravel the secrets hidden from the eyes of the public for centuries.

In addition to the nomination for the Academy Award, the film is also selected for the international competition program of the International Film Festival Academia Olomouc in the Czech Republic. In this category the film is also awarded for Best Movie Award. By promoting and supporting the science film in Europe, InScience offers opportunities for European and Dutch film makers and film producers.
