InVision

Bringing together filmmakers and scientists to explore, research and work on new stories

InVision is the industry program of InScience that brings together filmmakers, visual artists, storytellers, researchers, developers, philosophers, art students, and science communicators to stimulate interdisciplinary exchange. The program consists of workshops, key notes and pitch sessions around the central question: what are the dilemmas and opportunities of science storytelling?

EURASF members get free accreditation for the festival.

The InVision program will be kicked off by Alexis Gambis, the Venezuelan-French filmmaker, biologist and founder of Imagine Science Film (New York). He works with parties such as Sundance, Science Sandbox and Warner Bros. Discovery to boost film projects. The program also contains several workshops. Led by Pim Zwier (director of O, Collecting Eggs Despite the Times), a workshop will be held on visual storytelling about unusual or complex subjects. Film scholar and producer Emiel Martens takes a closer look at the do’s and don’ts of finding funding for your research based film. Media scholar Judith Keilbach (UU) specializes in interviewing people with trauma, grief or fear and discusses this with filmmaker Tjeerd Muller in a workshop on interview ethics. What should you take into account when it comes to trauma? How reliable are people’s answers? What responsibility do you have as an interviewer? There also will be film pitches for the artist-in-residency at the audiovisual archives of Radboud University. Furthermore, a new interdisciplary project for filmmakers and scientists will be launched about innovation in healthcare
